Despite being quite skinny, I like food. Most times people do not believe when I say so, but I really do like food! Since I'm guessing everyone eats, I thought I'd share a bit about food here at Calvin College. The food at Calvin College was actually a part of my convincing factors, 'cause they offer so many options.
Calvin College offers so many food options in the most affordable way for us students. All you have to do is swipe your card at the entrance and you open a gateway to unlimited food options. MAGIC. (Okay, not really, but you don't pay per food item or weight, that's the point I was getting to.)
For anyone who is worried about allergies and vegan options, they've got you covered. We even have vegan desserts.
There's this thing called Freshman 15 that happens to you when you're a freshman - as the name implies - you are liable to gain 15 pounds, cause the food is SUPER. Don't worry, it isn't the most common case--I never got it. Maybe because my metabolism is SUPER powered. I'm not in any way kidding. But yes, due to the waffle bar, pizza parlor and the waffle machine, the ice cream bar, and the sandwich making area, Freshman 15 is not a myth.
But don't be alarmed! We do have a salad bar where you can make your own salad, food options for super healthy eaters and a section for fruits and veggies!
Calvin gives you the option of two dining halls and a number of cafés. The food is awesome and my favorite is Friday lunch at Commons Dining Hall--chicken wings! If you're ever curious and want to know what's on the menu, you can check out calvin.edu/dining
Stay happy eating,
