Getting a job is an inevitable aspect of college life. Often, it’s difficult to know just what jobs are available on campus. After all, most students don’t even know where to start looking. Well, look no further, Calvin students! I asked students on campus to report back some of their favorite jobs, and got numerous responses.
When I initially sent out a Facebook post on Calvin College Spread the Word about what the best jobs on campus are, I did not expect so much positivity about the on-campus jobs here. So many students on campus absolutely love their jobs! Even more exciting is the fact that there is such a wide variety of jobs here at Calvin. From working as a SAT tutor to being a deskie in the dorms to working in the dining halls, there’s truly a job for every person out there.
Although it was challenging to narrow down, I chose five on-campus jobs to feature over the next five days. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find that one job that fits you like a glove.
Since I could not fit every job in this list, here are additional jobs to check out if you’re looking. While I cannot guarantee that any of these jobs are hiring, it never hurts to ask and find out! Also, remember that these are only a few of the many jobs here at Calvin. If none of these seem like your cup of tea, I encourage you to ask around for even more jobs available!

“It's a really great job because I get to be creative in a different way than I am when I'm working on my art. I make hats, masks, armor, wedding veils, wigs and anything else we need … Our schedule is also pretty flexible, so I can take a day off to study for a test and make up the hours later.” —Brenna Mahn

"I love my job because I plan events for underclassmen commuter students. Underclassmen commuter students don't have a roommate, or suitemates or a floor to do things with, and it can be hard to make friends and get involved when you're not a part of dorm life. In our group, F2C (First 2 Commute), commuters gather and do events together to make the most of their Calvin experience." —Sophia Medawar
