It’s not fall without an annual apple-picking trip. At Calvin College, Robinette’s is the number one spot. I still remember my first time at Robinette's last year. It was fairly close to the start of the school year, and all of our friendships were still forced and awkward. Looking back at the photos we took at Robinette’s, it’s unbelievable to see how far we’ve come.
Robinette’s has a large apple statue in front, along with a cute little shop with homemade goodies. I will forever swear by the excellence of the apple cider donuts that they sell here, along with their insanely good ice cream.
Even though there’s nothing truly special about the apples themselves, the place makes the trip worth it. There are plenty of opportunities for cute pictures, from the orchard to the giant apple statue. You also can fill up on as many apples as you want. Something about eating an apple straight from the tree makes it taste better than getting it from a store. The best part of it all is bringing the apples back home to make delicious pies and desserts.
